Our client, based in Wiltshire, wanted to create two new offices at the rear of their current workspace. This would provide better flexibility to their building, offering a new supportive environment for different work tasks that their team may be carrying out.
During an initial consultation, we discussed the requirements of the project to ensure we provided the ideal solution. From this consultation, we noted two key considerations:
- As their building was a period property, it was important to retain the existing apex roof structures. Our client thought (and we agreed) that it provided a unique character that set their workplace apart.
- Another requirement of the frameless glass installation project was to ensure the rooms had an appropriate acoustic rating. Using soundproofing techniques from interior solutions, we could reduce the volume of noise transferred from room to room, improving privacy and reducing interruptions.
We then established the ideal installation date for our client’s new offices. We were flexible to agree on a date that was most convenient to our client and, when that day came around, our commercial interior contractors headed to the site.
The Solution
Our client’s new offices consisted of a combination of dry-lined walls and glass partitions. To form the division at the back of the office, we fitted drywall. We also fitted sidewalls in order to overcome the unusual shape of the building. This was an affordable office partitioning with a high quality finish.
This then left a front wall and a very small (but very effective) return “nib” that needed to be formed. Our fitters used single glazed glass partitioning to fill this. It had a frameless finish to add a contemporary twist to their office design.
Next, we installed full-height door frames. Adding framing to the system would help to improve sound by reducing the volume of noise that’s able to escape through the joints of the door. For additional privacy, we applied a diminishing band of opal frost manifestation to the glass walls. This adds impact to the modern partition and provides a degree of visual privacy to employees inside.
Using a streamlined process, we completed our client’s project on time and within budget. After, the team were excited to return to the office to try their new workspace.
