How Do Fire Rated Partitions Work?
Whilst the primary function of a partition is to divide and create new workspaces in existing buildings, we are able to install systems with fire rated qualities to provide additional safety to your business and staff.
The required fire protection in your workspace will entirely depend on the location and functionality of your building, with fire rated partitions helping to fulfil different requirements should the unfortunate event of a fire occur.
Please note: Fire protection is a serious matter and the safety of staff needs to be thoroughly covered. We encourage our clients to get in touch to discuss the fire rated properties of their partitioning with us further, however, final protection will always depend on building controls and regulations to dictate requirements.
Typically, fire-resistant walls that are used to partition existing spaces in buildings and enclose compartments will be required to provide a barrier to the passage of fire from one side of the room to the other. Most building regulations and requirements for environments such as offices and factories typically require a 30 minute fire resistance rating for any partitioning product used within the area.
Fire rated partitioning must be able to satisfy each of the relevant protective criteria, including integrity, insulation and in some cases, load-bearing capacity, all depending on application.
Our Fire and Sound 75 and 100 Systems both fulfil these requirements, and also have a high rating on acoustics if the function of the wall is to also reduce the passage of sound.
Available in a variety of Module options (as with our Demountable H50 system), this system has the versatility to give the required fire rating and sound insulation, as well as being aesthetically pleasing. We provide a full bespoke service with design and layout plans and full client support throughout the installation.
We can also offer advice on what would be best suited for the client’s needs based on our many years’ experience in the industry.
