Creating an Open Plan Office with Privacy

The Brief

We’re thrilled to work with our returning client on this new glass partitioning installation project. They had contacted our commercial fit out contractors for help dividing up some new office spaces within their existing workplace.

Previously, we had helped their team create a new, glass meeting room, so they knew they could rely on our team for the same efficiency and high quality solutions.

The project began with an initial consultation where we outlined their brief. They had an open plan office that was great as a collaborative environment, but they found that they needed some additional private work areas and meeting rooms for ad hoc tasks. More specifically, they wanted to divide three new offices.

Having spoken to our client about their requirements, we determined that they needed bright, spacious rooms, with a partitioning system that matched the systems we have previously installed for them. With a collaborative approch, we were able to deliver just that..

The Solution

The first step within the partitioning installation was to head to their workplace for an initial site visit. Here, we could gather accurate measurements of the new offices and walk the space. Our in-house designers could then create a realistic 3D office design, ready for our client’s approval. Once these were agreed, the next step was installation.

We used a seamless process to deliver our client’s new glass offices in Gloucester:

1. We began by fitting the partitioning tracks around the perimeter of the three new glass offices. Our client decided on the track colour to match their existing partitioning systems.
2. Next, we could fit the frameless glass partition walls. As we had taken previous site measurements, these arrived on site made to measure, reducing material waste and unnecessary expenses.
3. We then added a frosted glass manifestation. These are films that we can apply over your glass panes, available in various designs. To improve the privacy of our client’s meeting rooms, we used a frosted band across the middle of the glass walls. This restricted vision into the new modular work areas without compromising on natural light.

Due to the nature of our client’s business, we needed to work quickly when it came to installation. We offer our clients flexibility, completing some of the construction out of hours to avoid disrupting their staff.

Once finished, our client could enjoy their new private meeting rooms. The glass had a corporate finish, whilst the manifestation improved the privacy within the new spaces.
