Whether you’re a noisy group wanting to prevent noise escaping into adjoining offices or you want to increase privacy in your workplace, as commercial fit out contractors, we offer effective interior solutions to combat noise.
What are Acoustic Ceilings?
Acoustic ceilings consist of special performing suspended ceiling tiles and accompanying gridwork. These systems are popular in workplaces across the sectors as they can hide unsightly building features or provide security to utilities, whilst still allowing easy access. Suspended ceilings are a great investment, as if a tile is damaged, you can replace a singular panel without the expense of replacing the entire ceiling!
The acoustic properties of your ceiling come down to the performance of your ceiling tiles. With strong industry connections, we can provide a variety of acoustic ceiling tiles to suit the needs of your workplace. When considering your ceiling acoustics, there are two elements to consider:
Sound Absorption
Sound absorption is when noise needs to be taken out of a room. Acoustic ceilings will achieve this as sound is absorbed by the ceiling tiles, dampening noise levels. This is often required in noisy environments like call centres and classrooms.
Sound Insulation
Also referred to as sound attenuation, sound insulation is when sound is kept within a room to avoid transferring into adjacent areas. Sound insulating ceiling tiles provide workplaces with an element of privacy, making them ideal for meeting rooms, boardrooms and more.

-
How do I stop hearing my neighbours through my ceiling?
Acoustic ceilings are designed to minimise sound transmission between spaces by absorbing sound that passes through your ceiling void. This is due to the composition of your ceiling tiles, which are often softer to provide better sound absorption. Once fitted, they can significantly improve the acoustic performance of your workplace.
-
Can acoustic ceilings be painted or decorated?
We don’t recommend that you paint your acoustic ceiling as it can compromise performance. Applying paint to your tiles can cover its surface, impacting its ability to absorb sound.
-
Is your team DBS checked?
Yes! We work with a lot of organisations within the education and healthcare sectors, so please rest assured that our entire fitting team is DBS checked. Plus, we hold CHAS, SafeContractor and other key accreditations.
