From thermal retention to acoustic insulation, there are many ways to insulate your ceiling. At Contract Interior Systems, we have years of experience that makes us qualified to assist with your insulation project, ultimately saving you money on your energy bills. Types of Ceiling Insulation

As standard, there are three main types of suspended ceiling insulation available:

Insulation Quilt

Insulation Quilts

Also known as loft roll, ceiling insulation quilts are laid directly on top of your ceiling tiles, hidden from view. They are designed to improve thermal efficiency by filling the void above your suspended ceiling system where warm air can potentially escape out of the room. We offer ceiling insulation quilts in a variety of sizes and thicknesses to suit your workspace.

Thermal Insulation

Polypad Insulation Bags

These sealed insulation bags are a ‘fibre-free’ ceiling insulation option. They are made of cut-up loft rolls, encased in black polythene bags for environments that need to consider the risks of fibres expelled during installation and maintenance, such as kitchens, warehouses and medical rooms. By simply laying the polypads across your ceiling tiles, these ceiling insulation bags provide a clean, easy-to-use solution to keep thermal efficiency in your space.

Insulation

Acoustic Insulation

Fibre-free acoustic polypads can be fitted to your ceiling tiles to provide an element of acoustic insulation. This prevents noises from escaping through the ceiling void, disrupting neighbouring rooms. We offer acoustic ceiling insulation in a variety of sizes and thicknesses to meet the needs of your space.

What are the Benefits of Ceiling Insulation?

Whilst a suspended ceiling already provides an element of insulation, partnering it with specialist insulation for ceilings can add a variety of benefits to your commercial space. From thermal to acoustic insulation, we provide additional ceiling enhancements to optimise your workspace.

  • With the right ceiling insulation, you can cut down on your energy bills. Fitting insulation to your suspended ceiling system can reduce the depth of the internal ceiling height, trapping warm air from below and preventing it from getting lost in a larger room. This keeps rooms cool in hotter months and warm in winter, reducing expenses from air conditioning and heating.
  • Reducing your energy expenses by turning down the heating can also help reduce your carbon footprint, positively impacting our climate.
  • Not only this, but padding out your ceiling with acoustic insulation can provide an element of sound control, preventing noise passing from room to room or escaping through your ceiling void.

Common Questions

If you can’t find what you need, contact us here or call:

  • What is R-value and why does it matter for ceiling insulation?
R-value is a measure of your ceiling insulation’s thermal resistance, indicating its ability to resist heat flow. A higher R-value is crucial when insulating your ceiling to keep your space comfortable and reduce energy costs.
  • Does ceiling insulation help with noise reduction?
Yes, ceiling insulation can contribute to noise reduction. Acoustic insulation can help to absorb sound that would otherwise transfer from room to room through your ceiling void, making for a more comfortable work environment.
  • Is your team DBS checked?
Yes! We work with a lot of organisations within the education and healthcare sectors, so please rest assured that our entire fitting team is DBS checked. Plus, we hold CHAS, SafeContractor and other key accreditations.
