Building an Open-Plan Office for Productivity

The Brief

Our client had a large interior project that they needed help with in their workplace. Their vision was to open up three separate work units to connect them together, ultimately turning smaller office spaces into one larger workroom. With such a large project, the client needed a team of commercial interior fit out contractors that they could trust to deliver their interior project on time, on budget and with little disruption to the rest of the workplace. For this project, we teamed up with our sister brand, Gravity Office Interiors.

The Solution

As with any office refurbishment, we work closely with the client to ensure we fully understand their requirements and that the completed project is exactly what they had envisioned. Communication is important to us; that’s why our design experts carry out detailed surveys to carefully listen to what is valuable to our clients. We were then able to understand they needed an installation that caused little disruption to the rest of the work environment. Using strategic time management, we ensured we completed the office fit out over a set period of time. This phased method of working was successful for a smooth office refurbishment.

Along with the design team at Gravity, we were able to transform the existing workspace into an inspiring, open-plan office that facilitated dynamic working. The finished project included meeting rooms for both formal and informal meetings, a multipurpose breakout room and open plan desk space to ensure staff were equipped with everything they needed to get work completed. This involved acoustic wall features to control noise levels by absorbing sounds to keep conversations private or contain collaborative sessions.

The interior plans also used biophilic designs to create an inspiring workplace to keep staff motivated. Using preserved planting methods, this design feature requires little upkeep and maintenance to ensure freshness in the office.
