Great Place to Work Certified

The Brief

When Advanced Grinding looked at their office in Quedgeley, they saw a space that had served them well but no longer matched the pace of their growth. With workforce expansion on the horizon and storage space already stretched, the existing layout was limiting what the team could achieve day-to-day.

What they needed was an interior refurbishment, focused on futureproofing their workplace. During our consultation, we discussed creating an energised office that would support additional staff, provide smarter storage solutions and offer a balanced work environment where teams could collaborate, concentrate and take a break when needed.

Their brief centred on three key goals:

  • Refreshing the environment so it felt inviting, efficient and futureproof
  • Expanding capacity for a growing workforce
  • Adding much-needed storage without taking up unnecessary office space

The Solution

We began by sitting down with Advanced Grinding to understand how they worked, where the pressure points were and what their ideal office would look like. It was about more than simply placing desks and painting walls – we needed to build a workspace that supported people as much as operations.

The refurbishment started with the basics:

  • The partition walls were repaired and fully decorated, creating a clean and professional canvas for the rest of the build.
  • We stripped out the tired flooring, replacing it with a new, bespoke design that brought energy back into the space.

From there, we tackled the remaining office refurbishment. Already sectioned off from other areas in the office, it was easy for our team to refit this with new desks and office furniture. This immediately lifted the space and gave staff a comfortable, practical place to work.

The Breakout Area

This was a new zone we created for our client. Its purpose is for quiet focus and relaxation, fitted with personal lockers, a sofa and an acoustic four-seater pod to give the team a flexible space for downtime or private meetings.

Alongside these, we introduced a few finishing touches to really tie the office together:

  • Bespoke manifestations were applied to existing glass partitions for privacy and to bring in an element of company branding.
  • New roller blinds were fitted to exterior windows to offer better light control as and when needed.
  • We installed consistent furniture upgrades across the private office, meeting room and breakout zones to better support the team with their tasks.

Every decision was made with storage, efficiency and usability in mind. Ultimately, the refurbished Gloucester office needed to support the way Advanced Grinding operates both today and in the future.

The Outcome

The completed refurbishment delivered exactly what Advanced Grinding needed: a modern, flexible workspace that balances efficiency with comfort.

As their commercial fit out contractors, we delivered a main office that supports an expanding workforce with ergonomic desks and thoughtful storage. The breakout area has become a valuable addition – a calm, comfortable zone that encourages both collaboration and relaxation. The overall office layout feels cohesive and structured, ensuring their space is adaptable for years to come.

Advanced Grinding now operates in an office that reflects their ambitions – a professional, future-ready environment that grows with them.
