Sound Solutions: Meeting Room Fit Out in Bath

The Brief

This recent office fit out project was located in Bath. Here, our client was interested in updating their workplace with glass office partitions to create a new meeting space.

The client contacted our Cheltenham contracting team for help as they needed the help of experts to find a solution to retain the existing exposed roof structure whilst creating this. For them, it was key to maintain the beautiful outlook over their surrounding countryside.

When it came to the properties of their meeting room, it needed to be semi-private. To achieve this, we needed to ensure the space had great sound absorption so that their team could have confidential meetings without being overheard.

The Solution

With years of experience installing office partitioning in Bath and the surrounding areas, we were able to easily find suitable solutions to help our client with their commercial interiors. We combated the two main requirements with the following methods:

• Ceiling Structure – We installed a ‘floating’ ceiling (also known as a suspended ceiling) from the building’s existing roof structure. This had minimal visual impact on the room to ensure we retained the exposed roof structure, as our client required.
• Private Meeting Room – This suspended ceiling system has been overlaid with a sound quilt. This reduced room-to-room sound transfer to improve privacy in their workplace. To build this, we installed fully glazed, frameless glass partitions with a central, full-height glazed glass door. To improve privacy even further, we applied a 2m high opal frost manifestation. This obscured vision into the meeting room without compromising the flow of natural light.

Once completed, our client had a workplace that supported their team with their day-to-day tasks.
